Welcome to Family Practice of Conyers

At Family Practice of Conyers, we are committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare for individuals aged 13 and older in our community. With a focus on personalized care, our experienced medical team—specializing in both family medicine and internal medicine—strives to build lasting relationships with patients while delivering high-quality medical services.

Founded by Alvin Griffin, MD, a staple in the Conyers community, our practice is built on a legacy of compassionate care and dedication to improving the health and well-being of our neighbors. Dr. Griffin stepped away from bedside care in 2023, entrusting his thriving practice to Family Medicine Specialist Kelvin Burton, MD. As the practice continues to grow and evolve, Family Practice of Conyers is pleased to welcome Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Anita Haugabrook to the team. Her expertise and commitment to patient care further enhance the practice’s mission of providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare to the community.

Dr. Kelvin Burton, MD

Medical Director

Family Medicine Specialist

Dr. Burton leads our practice with a patient-first approach, focusing on comprehensive and compassionate care.

With over 35 years of experience in family medicine, he is dedicated to improving the health and wellness of our community.

Dr. Burton graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and is Board Certified with the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). He is also a member of the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP), holding additional expertise in Pain Management and Opioid Addiction.

Before joining Family Practice of Conyers, Dr. Burton was affiliated with WellStar Douglas Hospital and Tanner Health Systems. He is the owner of Total Care Family Medicine and currently serves as a Physician with the Piedmont Clinical Integration Network.

A proud Veteran, Dr. Burton served as a Medical Officer in the United States Navy.

Dr. Anita D. Haugabrook, MD

Internal Medicine Specialist

Dr. Haugabrook is a highly accomplished Internal Medicine physician with 30 years of experience in both outpatient and hospital settings.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology/Pre-Med. She then completed medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine,

graduating with honors and being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, which recognized her academic excellence.

Dr. Haugabrook completed her Internal Medicine & Pediatrics residency at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis and later returned to Georgia to practice Med-Peds in the outpatient setting. After several years, she transitioned to hospitalist medicine, where she spent the last 18 years providing inpatient care.

Currently, Dr. Haugabrook is returning to outpatient/clinic medicine, with a focus on preventive care. She is dedicated to helping her patients achieve long-term health through education, lifestyle changes, and proactive measures to prevent chronic diseases.

She currently serves as a Physician with the Piedmont Clinical Integration Network.
